Interesting perspectives on SBO's and gut healing

On the pro side there's this:
soil-based-probiotics-plus-fermented-foods-heal-gut

And on the con side:
the-problem-with-soil-based-organisms

We go 'round and 'round about this and the bottom line seems to be no one really knows for sure.  Bottom line seems to be, proceed with caution!

  1. I have also been all around these two positions on probiotics with regard to SIBO. We are mostly told NOT to take them for various reasons, mainly that they don't help us control overgrowth as related to slow motility and added fermentation. I agree with the pros...until I read the cons. I took Prescript Assist on Chris Kresser's recommendation and didn't notice any difference. I believe Dr Siebecker recommended MegaSpore at one point, so I bought it, but not sure on taking it! I do take dairy free Custom Probiotics, on and off, and I don't eat/drink fermented foods. Trying to find some kind of healthy balance! Thanks for the info/links.

    1. Your very welcome! Frustrating that no one seems to know, then again we are all so bloody different that there seems to be no one way. Ah well, we just keep fighting. Sooner or later we have to win!
